Participants from across the Qiqiktani region gather in Iqaluit after the successful conference.

Challenge: The biggest challenge was the logistics of flying in over 40 participants from 11 communities in Nunavut, and keeping track of cancellations and flight changes with new Covid-19 protocols put in place a week before the conference.

Outcome: A successful, well organized, first-of-a-kind Qimuksiqtiit Regional Gathering. The purpose of this gathering was to advance the findings and recommendations of the Qikiqtani Truth Commission through the delivery of Saimaqatigiiniq programs. The conference participants were overjoyed to be invited to participate and to be listened to by QIA, which received a full list of ideas to move forward.
