This 20-page graphic novel is based on real people working at a mine on a typical day.
This 20-page novel is an educational, non-fiction book directed towards Grade 4 students.

Challenge: Ayaya worked seamlessly in collaboration with multiple departments of the Government of Nunavut, the mining industry, the Department of Education, an independent educator, and team members. All products followed school curricula currently used in Nunavut. The publications promoted gender equality in the mining industry, the many types of jobs available in Nunavut’s mining industry, and the steps involved in pursuing a career in geology and mining.

Includes materials on geology, mining operations and careers in mining and is directed toward Grades 10-12.

Outcome: The publications and learning guide are featured prominently on the NWT & Nunavut Chamber of Mine's website and are currently in process of being incorporated into Nunavut schools. It will take some years to know their impact on Inuit employment in the mining industry, but will no doubt influence some young Inuit in their education and career choices.
