Ayaya hired Terry Uyarak and Aakaluk Music to record a northern remix in Inuktitut to the 1980s hit song, "The Safety Dance". Using this song, Ayaya recorded a video with every day adult workers doing simple safety tasks at work. This video was then used to hold a video contest that invited workers to record their own clip of a worker doing something safe, using the Inuktitut recording of the Safety Dance for their video.
Objectives: This campaign aimed to help employees identify unsafe work conditions, focusing on youth, new workers and newcomers to Nunavut and NWT, while emphasizing the importance and responsibility of reporting potential hazards. Ayaya used a variety of print materials including posters, brochures, pop up banners and magnets, and digital ads that went on social media and local newspaper sites to help promote this campaign across the North.
